AUSTIN, 9 DECEMBER 2025: OriGen Biomedical is proud to announce that applications are now officially open for the OriGen Biomedical STEM Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year. This annual scholarship reflects OriGen’s commitment to empowering the next generation of innovators by supporting Austin-area high school students pursuing higher education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
The $500 scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding high school senior who plans to major in a STEM discipline at an accredited college or university. Funds may be used toward tuition, books, or other educational expenses.
Scholarship Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a current high school senior in the Greater Austin, TX area
- Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale
- Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited 4-year college/university or community college for a STEM-related degree beginning Fall 2026
- Demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and a passion for STEM

- Personal Essay — 750–1,200 words responding to one of three prompts covering cryopreservation, innovative cancer treatments, or the future of stem cell therapy.
- Official High School Transcript
- Proof of College Enrollment for Fall 2026

Applications will be reviewed by a committee of OriGen Biomedical employees, who will evaluate academic achievement and each applicant’s passion for advancing STEM.
